Is there anything cuter than a set of bunk beds? Whether it reminds you of sleep away camp, or late nights whispering with a sibling, there is something about this configuration that makes me want to smile. If you have two or more little ones and are looking for a small footprint, bunk beds also help maintain some floorspace.

We’ve rounded up some beautiful, functional bunk beds sure to delight your toddler, but also suitable for much older siblings. Whether you’re preparing a shared room, or creating a set up for sleepovers and family visits, there’s something here for you and yours.

A note about safety: the recommendation is that children under the age of six shouldn’t sleep on a top bunk. We’ve chosen some beds with low bottom bunks to make them even safer for toddlers, as well as thoughtful details like stairs instead of ladders, but please use your own discretion when choosing beds for your family.

12 Toddler Bunk Beds

The Tot
$999.00

Whether or not you’re a fan of the neutral colors and striking lines that have made Babyletto’s cribs so popular with design-minded parents, it’s never too late to fall in love with this beautiful and oh-so-functional bunkbed. I love that the ladder is movable to fit whatever room configuration you have, and that the beds disconnect in case you’re done with room sharing or just want two kids on solid ground. The nearly fully enclosed top bunk is a nice safety touch as well. Spring for the matching trundle (which can also be an under bed drawer), if you want this to sleep three.

Pottery Barn Kids
$2599.00

This bed manages to be understated, yet full of beautiful details. You can build the ladder on either side of the bed, and add an optional trundle under the bottom bunk either for storage or an extra sleeping option. Older siblings won’t have any complaints about sharing a room with this elegant spot to sleep. The light and bright color and solid construction will make it easy to integrate into your space.

West Elm
$2799.00

This striking bed will be the centerpiece of your little one’s room. The arch will make them feel like they are hiding away, while the top bunk offers a whole world away from the ground. With an integrated ladder, you won’t have to worry about it falling. This is one you might want to keep for a future guest room.

Oeuf
$1980.00

This stunning bunk bed is possibly the best of all worlds—it works perfectly as a traditional bunk, but also separates into a traditional twin bed and a loft bed. Choose from two beautiful, neutral colors, and add an optional trundle if you wish. Not ready to spring for the entire bunk bed yet? The loft and lower bed can be bought separately, so you can add to your furniture needs as you add to your family. Another optional add on is the toddler rail for the bottom bed, which will help everyone sleep a bit better.

p'kolino
$395.24
was $464.99

It’s hard to imagine a child who wouldn’t enjoy this bed. But it’s cute enough that I love it, too. With a low floor bed for the bottom bunk, this is a fit for your toddler, and beyond, but there’s lots of time to have adventures during the day (with supervision) in the house up the ladder. If you’re shopping for one little, you can convert this into a loft by removing the bottom mattress—keeping it around for sleepovers if you choose.

Pottery Barn Kids
$3399.00

One way to make the bottom bunk safer and more attractive to your child is to get a bunk bed with a full size as part of the equation. One way to make the top bunk safer for toddlers is the addition of a staircase and banister rather than a ladder. This bed also features a comprehensive guardrail. Whether they are visiting an older sibling or sleeping up top, these features make a better bed. Don’t overlook the under-bed storage drawers under the bottom bunk.

7 / 12
West Elm
$1699.00

Choose from two neutral colorways for this simple, modern bed that blends perfectly into your space and adapts to your children’s ages. This one is a good choice for homes with lower ceilings, as well. The top bunk offers comprehensive guard rails and the lower bunk is cozy but not overly contained. Coordinate with other items in the Milo collection for a streamlined look.

Wayfair
$829.99
was $1139.99

This bed combines all the fun and storage of a loft bed with the functionality of a bunk bed. Three little ones can easily fit in this L-shaped construction, or the third bed can be on hand for overnight visitors. The bottom bunk features and underbed drawer separated into two compartments and the top bunks are nearly fully enclosed with guard rails. The space under the loft bed works well as a play area, which might be another enticement to sleep on the bottom bunk.

9 / 12
Crate & Barrel
$1798.00

Another separable option, this bunk bed was designed for small spaces. The top bunk can function as a loft bed with the ladder integrated into the side and the bottom bunk rolls on casters for easy repositioning either under the loft, or in another spot entirely. Keep in mind that the ladder isn’t reversible on this one.

10 / 12
Wayfair
$1299.99
was $1629.99

This bunk bed offers the fully enclosed top and staircase while also integrating underbed and understairs storage. This version is also a twin over full, giving the lower bunk occupant room to spread out. You can also separate this whole system into a twin, a full and a trundle bed for tons of versatility.

11 / 12
Pottery Barn Kids
$2499.00

This whimsical treehouse bed comes in three different colors to suit your tastes and the top bunk is nearly fully enclosed for both safety and the perfect hideout. Keep the top as a play area and move your little one when they get older, or choose this as a perfect starter set for siblings sharing a room.

was $1299.00
